Do you think our poems describe winter?

We have used nouns and verbs to help describe winter.

A noun is a naming word.
A verb is a doing word.

Please read our poems and see if you think they describe winter. Can you spot the nouns and verbs?

Icicles hanging off a branch blowing in the wind.
Snow shooting down in the breeze and landing on the ground.
Coffee trucks racing across town making hot milos.
Kids are making snowmen.
By Matthew

Rain pelting down on the roof, sending me to sleep.
Children playing in the snow.
Snowballs smashing into other children.
Frozen icicles dropping down onto the ground.
Children skating on the ice, slipping over.
By Will

Children creating snowmen and throwing snowballs.
Grass frosted, wet and cold.
People playing soccer in the rain and getting cold.
Rain pelting down on the roof sending me to sleep.
By Nathan

Snow is falling.
Snow is rolling.
Children making snowmen.
Icicles rolling down hills.
Icicles smashing.
Snowflakes falling on noses.
Snowball fights.
By Libby

Snow giving me a frozen brain.
Snow used to make freaky snowmen.
Snow thrown at the freaky snowmen.
Thunder flashing in the sky.
By George

Hot chocolate helping you to get warm.
Children making snowmen.
Snowballs flying in the air and smashing into the children.
Thunder pounding down on the house.
By Boston

Hot chocolate in my cup, burning. Ouch!
Children skating at the park.
Rain splatting  on the roof.
Children playing with the snowflakes.
By Tasmyn

Ice skates skidding on the ice.
Hot chocolate steaming in people's eyes.
Snow dropping on my roof.
By Summer
