Next week we are playing in a mini touch tournament. We have been given a country to represent and support. The teams were chosen by a random draw.
T13 is South Africa
T14 is France
T15 is Namibia
We are going to be learning a little about the country we are representing. Can you match the flag to the country?
Welcome to our studio blog. We are 60 Year 1 and 2 ACTIVE Halswell kids who enjoy sharing our learning. We hope you enjoy our posts and we would love you to leave a comment.

We wrote these poems to describe the signs of spring that we can see around our school.
Blossom bursting out to greet the lovely morning.
Daffodils swing and dancing in the cool breeze.
Baby lambs running around in the cool spring breeze.
Little trees growing into big strong trees.
Birds making warm nests for their eggs.
Sun shimmering down through the lush white clouds.
Fresh green grass swaying gently in the cool breeze.
Fruit ripening in the strong little trees.
Kids kicking balls in the cool green grass.
George
Trees growing new soft shiny leaves.
Sticks falling off the trees.
Daffodils swaying in the breeze.
Blossom blooming on the trees.
Lambs drinking their mum's milk
then go jumping around the paddock.
Buds hiding a surprise in them.
Will
Trees growing beautiful green leaves.
Grass growing in the sun.
Daffodils growing beautiful coloured petals.
Sun shining in the trees.
Lambs drinking their milk.
Pigs rolling in the brown mud.
Blake
Flowers swaying in the cool breeze.
Lambs baaing in their cage.
Blossoms spurting out of their buds.
Pigs rolling in the gooey gooey mud.
Brand new soft furry buds blooming blossom.
insects creeping on flowers.
Fern trees growing ferns.
Sun shining on us when we play.
Fruit growing on fruit trees.
Libby
Baby animals being born.
Trees with buds about to bloom.
Daffodils dancing in the breeze, doing a dance for me.
Sun Staying up longer.
Bees making honey for me.
Birds cheeping in the morning sun.
Blossoms opening up, making a surprise for me.
Trees waving in the breeze.
Piglets rolling in the mud.
Lambs going baa.
Natasha
Sun shining in the beautiful blue sky.
Trees blooming and being skinny.
Beautiful green grass coming out of the ground.
Lambs jumping in a beautiful paddock.
Puppies playing at their house.
Bugs moving in the warm sun.
Daffodils growing in the sun.

Production Rehearsals
This week Ti Kouka has been busy with rehearsals for the school production.
We have had a group of movie makers using the app Explain Everything to create short clips that will be part of our performance. Here is a sneak peek of what our movie makers have been up to.
Our campers have been busy learning this chant:

Our campers have been busy learning this chant:
Marshmallows on a stick
Marshmallows on a stick
Cook’em til they’re nice and soft
Marshmallows on a stick
Let’s fly a kite up high
Let’s fly a kite up high
Watch it soar up in the sky
Let’s fly a kite up high
We’re Fishing in the river
We’re Fishing in the river
We’ll catch a fish for tea tonight
We’re Fishing in the river
A picnic in the sun
A picnic in the sun
Every kiwi loves to have
A picnic in the sun
Cricket on the beach
Cricket on the beach
Hit a six and win the match
Cricket on the beach
Those stormy clouds above
Those stormy clouds above
Oh no it is about to rain
Let’s get out of here…… (Shout loudly and run off leaving rubbish behind)
And our fish have been busy learning this song:
Down in Huritini
In an itty bitty pool
Swam a school of little fishies
And a mommy fishie too
Swim said the mommy fishie
Swim if you can
So they tried and they tried
But got stuck in some cans
Boop boop diddum daddum waddum Choo
Boop boop diddum daddum waddum ew yuck
Boop boop diddum daddum waddum Choo
And they swam and they swam but couldn't get clean
Stop cried the mommy fish
Our river’s not safe
But The little school of fishies
Just wanted to play
The little school of fishies went off for a feed
And they swam and they swam
Right into some weed
Boop boop diddum daddum waddum Choo
Boop boop diddum daddum waddum ew yuck
Boop boop diddum daddum waddum Choo
And they swam and they swam but couldn't get clean
Down in Huritini
