Measurement

This week we have been exploring length in our T groups. We have measured how tall we are and different parts of our body.
We found out that:

  • our feet are longer than our hands.
  • Around our ankle is bigger than our wrist.
  • Our foot is shorter than the distance around our head.

We also used the ACTIVE kid to see what things in our studio are longer, smaller or the same length as the ACTIVE kid.

 The Lego is smaller.

The wand is longer.

The scissor container is longer.

The box is the same length.
We recorded our measurements on a chart.

Do you think our poems describe winter?

We have used nouns and verbs to help describe winter.

A noun is a naming word.
A verb is a doing word.

Please read our poems and see if you think they describe winter. Can you spot the nouns and verbs?

Ti Kouka - We are one big family.

We are excited to have lots of new children in Ti Kouka. We had fun getting to know each other by making a big mural to go in our studio. We drew a picture of ourselves. Then we used the koru pattern to show the people who we live with.
  1. The koru  means new life, growth, strength and peace.

We had fun experimenting how to draw the koru.
